The explosive heart of Eliza’s Blackout. Laura is a passionate and powerful vocalist whose voice commands the stage. Her energy is infectious, channeling deep passion into every lyric. She lives for the spotlight, driven by the dream of leaving the crowd in awe.
Drums
André is more than just our drummer; he is the unshakeable pillar and the good soul of Eliza’s Blackout. You can count on him for everything, both on and off the stage. Musically, his journey from a local Big Band (PCO) to our rock outfit gives him a deep, versatile groove. André is fearless in exploring new rhythms, providing a foundation that allows the rest of the band to truly fly.
Bass
Dave is Eliza’s Blackout’s secret weapon. Although he’s only been with us since the summer, his love for virtuoso musicians (like bass legend Victor Wooten) and his deep roots in harder genres, Prog, and Jazz give him a unique depth. While he has a known problem with Gear Acquisition Syndrome (always rocking new, amazing equipment), he’s the most laid-back member, keeping the music fun and leaving the center stage to others.
Keys
Guanqiao is the latest addition to our soundscape, bringing world-class expertise to the keys. His educational journey—spanning the Musikakademie Anton Rubinstein and the highly respected Jazz school FMW in Frankfurt—means he possesses a deep well of musical knowledge. He’s a genuinely sweet and reserved person, yet we all know he could run musical circles around us effortlessly. Guanqiao is dedicated to the core principle of music serving the song, always delivering the exact right sound. We’re still working on the name pronunciation, but the music speaks for itself.
Guitar
For Sonja, musical ambition and catchy melodies are never a contradiction—they are the foundation of her songwriting. A gifted, self-taught guitarist and the band’s main composer, her unique voice on the electric guitar is unmistakable. She masterfully balances tight, groovy rhythm with spontaneous, soaring soloing, inspired by greats like Steve Morse and Nuno Bettencourt. Her background is impressive, featuring her work with the well-known Grooving Doctors Challenge, which has seen her share the stage with icons such as Jürgen Zöller, Dennis Hormes and Cherno Jobatey.
